Legal Procedure Upon Arrival
You are advised to complete the following procedures as soon as you arrive in Korea.
Alien Registration
Any foreigner who wishes to stay in Korea for more than 90 days needs to get an
“alien registration card” from the Immigration Office.

_How to get there:
By Bus: Take bus 103, 510, 510-1, or 513 and get off near the Mok-dong Sun Hospital and walk for a few minutes to reach the Immigration Office. Or it is more convenient to take a taxi.
_Required documents:
- Application Form
- Passport
- Certificate of enrollment
- 2 photos (3x4cm)
- Fee: 10,000 won
- Other documents each category of visa may require additionally
_Fee: You have to buy the government revenue stamp from the immigration office.
_Certificate of enrollment: You can obtain this certificate from an automated machine
at the 1st floor of the Creative Learning Building(E11).
_Certificate of scholarship: You can obtain this certificate from the Student Affairs Team,
1st floor of the Creative Leaning Building(E11).
Extension of Sojurn Period
You must visit the Immigration office to extend your visa.

- Certificate of scholarship
- Fee: 30,000 won
Re-entry permit
If you wish to leave temporarily and re-enter Korea within the authorized period of stay, you are required to apply for a re-entry permit before leaving Korea. If you leave Korea without a re-entry permit, you must get a new Korean visa to return to Korea even if your period of stay has not yet expired
To get a re-entry permit, you should submit an application to Daejeon Immigration Office having jurisdiction over the place of your stay, either by visiting in person or by proxy. You can also apply for a single re-entry permit at ports of departure (Incheon Airport).

- Alien registration card
- Application form (Downloadable from internet)
- Other documents each category of visa may require additionally
- Fees (30,000 won for a single re-entry permit, 50,000 won for a multiple reentry permit)
If your application is accepted, the immigration officer in charge will stamp your passport to show that you have obtained a re-entry permit.
international students with D-2 visa in Korea are not allowed to work off-campus. Part-time and full-time jobs such as teaching, paid translation and work at shops, bars, companies and factories, etc, are not allowed.
