Our research is focused on the interaction of photons with periodic dielectric structures on the scale of an optical wavelength.?Various artificially-controllable photonic crystal resonant structures are under investigation. Ultimately we dream of an on-demand electrically-triggered single photon source for quantum information. |

In this lab, basic physics for developing practical quantum computers is studied using magnetic resonance. Quantum algorithms are implemented by NMR and magnetic resonance force microscopy(MRFM) is developed as a human interface
to quantum computers. Various magnetic materials are under study to develop the most feasible quantum computer CPU.

HSML conducts the research of the developments of high Tc superconducting tapes, high Tc superconducting magnets, and the investigations of their physical, material, and design properties for their best performances. HTSC is one of the international leading laboratories with funding provided by the 21C-Frontier Project of Ministry of Science and technology. The technology of the high Tc superconductor and magnet can be applied to all the electrical power equipments such as motors, generator, transformer, MRI magnets, laboratory magnets, magnetic separator, magnetic levitation, energy storage system, etc. Hence in the coming decade, the high Tc superconductor is expected to revolutionize much of industry and technology. There are correlated two goals of HSML One is making contributions to advancing the large scale high Tc super conductor technology and understanding their properties on the base of superconductor physics. the other is interdisciplinary education and training that gives students a diversity of experimental skill as well as a broad and flexible perspective of how scientific knowledge can be used to impact technological development. |
